About Resilient Aging

RESILIENCE is the ability to adapt to the changes, meet the challenges, and bounce back from life’s adversities.

Did you know...
  • You may have many more years to live than you had previously imagined. You could live into your 90s and if you are now in your 60s, what would your life look like in the next 30 years? Have you considered this possibility and given this future a thought?
  • While you can’t help getting older, you really don’t have to get “old” (in the negative sense of the word). You can live a rich and rewarding life. You can thrive and you can grow as you continue to age. You might even fall in love again and feel as aroused as a teenager in bloom.
  • While the “Golden years” can be terrific, they may require that you adjust to changes such as dealing with declining health and diminished energy, living with reduced financial resources, losing a spouse or friends, becoming a caregiver, living alone, becoming more invisible, and keeping up with the fast pace of change.
  • Although the third-age may involve unsettling life-changes, you can develop your capacity to deal constructively with those. You can turn some of these lemons into lemonade.
  • Greater resilience equips to better overcome adversity and loss.
  • Resilience touches on many aspects of life, and regardless of how wonderful your life is now, you can make it even better.
  • You can grow your resilience!
  • Aging-related losses can discourage and overwhelm. Examining and dealing with issues in consultation with other elders can make a huge difference.
  • You are not alone, others are experiencing similar issues and learning how to cope and even thrive.
In Dr. Bar-David’s Resilient Aging workshops you will:
  • Discover strategies to age successfully, creatively, with passion, meaning, purpose and vitality.
  • Have an opportunity to re-vision your life plan so that you may enjoy the time you have left.
